Joining a session

A short guide for anyone invited to someone else's table.

Before you join

You need Menyr installed and a NOG account. It's free. See Installation and account.

Joining

Invitations go through Steam. Your game master invites you, you accept, you land in their session.

Your game master's PC hosts the session: their machine and connection shape the experience for the whole table.

The first load can be slow

The game master's map is transferred to you when you arrive. On a busy world, some elements may be missing until the transfer completes.

In game

Right click toggles between camera control and HUD display: that's how you switch between moving around and clicking in the interface.

You can move objects the game master has marked Grabbable, and open doors and chests marked Interactible. See Handling objects in play mode.

Bring a paper character sheet: Menyr doesn't handle them yet.

What you can change

Today, every participant can switch to build mode and edit the scenery. Game master permission controls are coming in 0.9; until then, agree with your table on who touches what.
